Liz sent me this link earlier today and I thought it tied in nicely with Mike's latest blog posts about dieting and not eating.

Compulsive Eating Resembles Addiction

I like how it says that the rat needed constant stimulation from tasty food to avoid a state of persistent negative reward. Wouldn’t having to always eat untasty food be a state of persistent negative reward? And that must have been some really tasty food if the rat was willing to take an electric shock to get it!
